About River Dance
River Dance is an initiative of the Goolwa Uniting Church. In light of the current drought and its unique impact on the Goolwa and lower lakes region the River Dance campaign vision is:
- To celebrate the spirit of Goolwa!
- To shine a spotlight on our vibrant, diverse, committed and resilient community.
By engaging with a broad range of members of the local community, local businesses, community groups and more, and inviting them to be filmed as they dance in a fun and spontaneous way River Dance’s goal is to:
- To renew a sense of optimism and hope for the future health and prosperity of Goolwa and its people.
- To promote Goolwa as a fantastic place to live and visit.
- To raise awareness of mental health issues associated with the drought and increase access to resources.
- To increase individual and community capacity to not just ‘survive’ the effects of the drought but to ‘thrive’.
